Broadway Bound The Astana Dance Summit

Kazakhstan. Perhaps nowhere has Company | E built such a deep and enduring relationship. Since the Company's first tour, in 2010, to Almaty and Astana, where we introduced the choreography of the legendary Paul Taylor, performing his iconic "Esplanade" for sold-out houses, Company | E has taught, created and toured from the far east to the far west of the country. From creating new choreography on existing companies to forming new contemporary companies, from conducting capacity building workshops to training an entire generation of new dancers during the annual International Dance Summits held around the country, the Company has made a deep and lasting commitment to a remarkable nation where contemporary dance is just coming into its own.

LOOKING BACK

Deepening an already rich partnership with the art and artists of Kazakhstan, Company | E journeys to Astana for its sixth program since 2010 to share the studios and the stage with teachers and dancers from around the country in the Company | E ASTANA DANCE SUMMIT and then to celebrate 25 years of U.S. - Kazakh relations with two special BROADWAY BOUND concerts on U.S. Independence Day, July 4, and then on the July 6 birthday of President Nazarabeyev.

In partnership with the U.S. Embassy, Astana, the Office of the Mayor of Astana and the University of the Arts, Astana, Company | E brings together over 100 dancers, singers and musicians to create the magic of BROADWAY in the heart of Kazakhstan.
