Company | E's ongoing Ukrainian Artists Initiative. Begun in spring of 2022 this series of commissions in dance, music, film, photography and storytelling is designed to use the power of performing and visual art to bear witness to Russia's war on Ukraine through the eyes of Ukrainian artists themselves.
CONCERTS AND INITIATIVES ON THE CLIMATE CRISIS
Company | E's ongoing commitment to commissioning works from artists at home and around the globe which speak to the climate crisis is just one part of the organization's efforts.
From programs for young audiences to new initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint while bringing the world closer together, the Company is engaged in one of the key questions of our times.
Working with U.S. Embassies overseas and Foreign Missions to the United States at home in DC, Company | E's core work is to bring people and cultures together through movement, music and cross-cultural dialogue and engagement.
The annual Company | E and Howard University commission for the next generation of choreographers, composers, film-makers and dramatic artists.
Created in memory of Liz Cherry Jones, 2022 pairs choreographer Tori Yevette Carter and composer Clifton Brockington.
Check out also 2021's commission "PASSENGER," by Raven Leak.
Company | E's partnership in Belgrade with Una Saga Serbica and the Embassy of the United States in Serbia led to SKLONISTE (SHELTER), an evening-length, site specific performance reflecting on COVID-19.
...a responsibility as well as an opportunity. No other art form exists solely within the human body, and passing it on is a uniquely human experience - one which transcends age, culture and language.
Since its inception Company | E has empowered people around the world, bringing uniquely American techniques to students of all ages, training trainers in methodolgy, working with small businesses in capacity building and techniques for management, mentoring next generation artists and, vitally, taking that know-how and commitment into DC Public and Charter Schools and into the classroom in our School for Dance, the Company | E Movement Center.
